My client a globally recognized, award-winning multi-disciplinary consultancy known for its innovative and sustainable design solutions across architecture, urban design, engineering, and interiors in Dubai requires a highly experienced and creative Principal Master planner/ Urban Designer to join their dynamic team and lead the design vision for a diverse range of urban projects.

  • Lead the design vision for a variety of urban projects in the Middle East region, ensuring they are innovative, sustainable, and meet the highest design standards.
  • Manage and oversee the full design lifecycle of complex urban design projects, from initial concept development to construction documents.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative design environment within the team.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance and expertise in urban design principles.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, effectively presenting design proposals and managing expectations.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in urban design, sustainability, and regional planning regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of successful proposals for new urban design projects.
  • Liaise effectively with government agencies, stakeholders, and communities throughout the design process.
  • Uphold the company's commitment to sustainable design principles, with a working knowledge of LEED, BREEAM, or Estimada certification systems (desirable).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in urban design, with at least 5 years demonstrably working in the GCC region.
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or a closely related field.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering complex urban design projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of urban design principles, including master planning, public realm design, and placemaking.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS).
  • Fluency in English and Arabic language skills (a strong plus).
  • A passion for sustainable design and a working knowledge of LEED, BREEAM, or Estimada certification systems (desirable).
