Our client, a prestigious international interior design studio, is seeking a highly organized and technically astute Technical Manager to lead the delivery and coordination of large-scale, complex projects.
The successful candidate will act as the vital bridge between the creative vision and the technical reality. You will be responsible for safeguarding design integrity through the Design Development (DD) and Documentation (DOC) stages, ensuring that MEP, lighting, and structural requirements are seamlessly integrated without compromising the aesthetic intent.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Coordination & Integration
MEP & Lighting: Lead the coordination of MEP and lighting services within the interior design scope, ensuring all technical elements are hidden or integrated elegantly into the design.
Consultant Management: Attend regular meetings with external consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, etc.) to resolve technical clashes and streamline the delivery process.
Design Safeguarding: Act as the technical "gatekeeper," ensuring that as technical requirements are added, the original design intent and brand standards remain intact.
Documentation & Package Management
Package Oversight: Manage the production and setup of comprehensive documentation packages, ensuring high standards of detailing and accuracy.
Workflow Standards: Establish and maintain rigorous filing systems and document control protocols for the technical team.
Quality Control: Review all drawing sets to ensure they meet the studio's international standards and are buildable, compliant, and detailed.
Strategic Planning & Compliance
Concept Support: During the concept stage, provide technical feasibility support, ensuring plans align with specific Hotel Brand Guidelines.
Regulations: Apply a deep understanding of local Dubai regulations (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense) and international hotel standards to the planning process.
Software Leadership: While the studio is currently CAD-centric, you will assist in the strategic roadmap for a future transition into Revit.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Technical Skills:
Industry Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience within an interior design or architectural studio, with a heavy focus on high-end hospitality or luxury commercial projects.
Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. A working knowledge of Revit is highly advantageous for the studio's future transition.
Local Knowledge: Proven experience navigating local UAE building codes and regulations.
Detail-Oriented: An expert understanding of joinery, materials, and technical construction detailing.
Soft Skills:
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for managing both internal teams and external high-level consultants.
Organization: A methodical approach to document management, filing, and project timelines.
