About the Role:

The Resident Engineer, sometimes referred to as clients representative, will be responsible for overseeing the construction phase of a project, ensuring adherence to design intent, quality standards, and project timelines. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Supervision:

    • Oversee daily construction activities to ensure compliance with approved construction drawings and specifications.

    • Monitor the quality of workmanship and materials used on site.

    • Resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during construction.

  • Design Coordination:

    • Coordinate with the design team to address design changes and modifications as required.

    • Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure they meet project requirements.

  • Client Liaison:

    • Maintain regular communication with the client to address their concerns and expectations.

    • Present progress reports and updates to the client.

  • Contract Administration:

    • Review contractor's claims and variations, ensuring they are justified and in accordance with the contract terms.

    • Monitor contractor's performance and adherence to project schedules.

  • Safety and Quality:

    • Enforce safety standards and regulations on site.

    • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential safety hazards and quality issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction site supervision

  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Proficiency in construction documentation and contract administration
