We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Resident Engineer to oversee the construction supervision of a large-scale residential development in Dubai, comprising high-end villas and townhouses. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the project is executed to the highest quality standards, on time, and within budget. Previous experience with a leading international/regional consultancy known for delivering landmark developments across the Middle East is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead site supervision activities and act as the primary point of contact between the client, contractor, and the consultancy team.
Ensure all construction works are executed in accordance with contract specifications, drawings, quality standards, and relevant local authority regulations.
Manage and oversee all disciplines on site, including architectural, structural, civil, MEP, and infrastructure works.
Provide daily and weekly reporting to project stakeholders on progress, risks, and site issues.
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, inspectors, and site staff.
Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, material submittals, and progress claims.
Monitor contractor's programme and ensure timely execution of works.
Chair regular site and coordination meetings with contractors and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and enforce safety procedures across the site.
Manage quality control processes and coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections and approvals.
Interface with client representatives and provide expert technical advice when required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
18-20 years of total experience, with a minimum of 10 years in a Resident Engineer or Site Lead role.
Proven track record of supervising villa and townhouse projects within the UAE or GCC region.
Experience working with reputable international or large regional engineering consultancies.
Strong knowledge of UAE construction codes, authority approvals, and regulations.
Excellent leadership, team management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic is an advantage.
Strong understanding of contracts (FIDIC preferred) and site-based project controls.
