My client a leading real estate developer in Abu Dhabi requires a Director of Landscape to lead a vibrant team.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will lead a landscape architecture division, overseeing external consultants and contractors in all aspects of project design, development, and implementation. This role requires a seasoned professional with a passion for creating innovative and sustainable landscapes that enhance the urban environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the landscape architecture team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive the division's growth and success.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Project Oversight:
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of landscape architecture projects from concept to completion.
- Ensure projects meet client expectations, budget constraints, and deadlines.
- Coordinate with other departments, including architecture, urban planning, and engineering, to ensure cohesive project development.
- Client Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and translating them into design solutions.
- Present designs and project proposals to clients and stakeholders effectively.
- Address client feedback and make necessary adjustments to project plans.
- Design and Innovation:
- Lead the conceptualization and design of innovative and sustainable landscape projects.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in landscape architecture.
- Incorporate sustainable practices and environmentally-friendly solutions into all projects.
- Operational Management:
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
- Prepare and review detailed project documentation, including plans, reports, and contracts.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in landscape architecture, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS. Familiarity with BIM is a plus.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, management, and mentoring skills. Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex ideas to clients and stakeholders clearly and persuasively.
- Creativity and Innovation: A strong portfolio showcasing innovative and sustainable landscape projects.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of landscape architecture principles, sustainability practices, and the regulatory environment in Dubai.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working in the Middle East.
- Membership in professional organizations such as CMLI, ASLA or IFLA.
- Proficiency in English.
