My client, a dynamic and award-winning multidisciplinary practice based in Riyadh, is seeking an Associate and / or Director of Landscape Architecture

This is based in Riyadh city - NOT remote living

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate and/ or Director of Landscape Architecture to join our team in Riyadh. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivery of prestigious cultural projects, contributing your expertise to create meaningful and engaging public spaces. You will work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary teams, from conceptual design through to construction completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the landscape architectural design of cultural projects, ensuring sensitivity to the local context, heritage, and cultural significance.
  • Develop compelling conceptual designs, master plans, and detailed landscape architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations and reports to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, urban planners, engineers, and other consultants to ensure seamless integration of landscape design with the overall project vision.
  • Conduct site analysis, including environmental assessments and understanding of local plant palettes and sustainable design principles.
  • Manage and oversee the construction supervision phase of landscape projects, ensuring adherence to design intent, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Review contractor submissions, address technical queries, and conduct site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
  • Maintain strong communication and build effective working relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Stay abreast of current landscape architectural trends, materials, and technologies, particularly those relevant to cultural and heritage projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior landscape architects within the team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a Landscape Architect with Middle East Experience
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and overseeing the construction of landscape elements for cultural projects (e.g., museums, heritage sites, public art installations, cultural centers).
  • Experience of Design guardianship
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical proficiency, and a sensitivity to cultural context.
  • Excellent knowledge of landscape design principles, materials, planting design, irrigation systems, and sustainable design practices.
  • Strong knowledge of flora & Fauna
  • Proficiency in relevant design software, including AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, and other landscape modeling and visualization tools.
  • Experience with local regulations, standards, and approval processes in Saudi Arabia (preferred).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities.
  • Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience in construction supervision, including contract administration and site management.
