My client a leading international design consultancy is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of major projects in Riyadh as part of a Construction Management Supervision (CMS) team on a large cultural project.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong expertise in project delivery, contract administration, stakeholder management, and construction supervision across large-scale developments. The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams and act as the key interface between the client, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidates must demonstrate strong FIDIC contract administration experience, proven leadership on major developments, and the ability to manage complex construction environments in Saudi Arabia.
Immediate availability is highly preferred, and candidates with a transferable IQAMA will be given priority consideration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee large-scale construction and supervision projects from mobilisation through to completion
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams including architects, engineers, construction managers, and consultants
- Act as the primary client interface, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee construction supervision activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and programme objectives
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and resources to ensure successful project delivery
- Lead project controls, planning, reporting, and recovery strategies where required
- Manage contract administration activities with strong focus on FIDIC-based contracts
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and authorities to resolve technical and commercial issues proactively
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with local regulations, contractual obligations, and international best practices
- Provide executive-level reporting and strategic project leadership to senior stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
- Minimum 20 years' experience in project delivery and construction supervision roles
- Proven experience delivering large-scale mixed-use, residential, commercial, hospitality, or infrastructure projects
- Strong background working within consultancy / Construction Management Supervision environments
- Extensive experience in FIDIC contract administration and project management
- Previous project experience in Saudi Arabia is strongly preferred
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Membership of RICS or equivalent professional body is preferred
- FIDIC certification or formal contract management training is advantageous
